CASE 2nd Transnational Partners’ Meeting

The CASE (Creativity, Art and Science in Primary Education) consortium held its 2nd Transnational Partners’ Meeting on 8 July 2018 in Marathon, Greece. The meeting took place in view of the upcoming CASE Summer School 2018.

Representatives of the 7 partner organisations gathered in order to discuss the next steps of the project’s unfolding. An overview of the activities realised so far was presented and a common understanding about what is next was fostered. The CASE Training Materials have been finalised and partners discussed about the implementation phase which will start from September 2018 onward and its correlation to the Assessment Methodology that has already been developed.  Moreover, the activities of the CASE Summer School 2018 were highlighted and each partner’s responsibilities were outlined; the Summer School 2018 gathers 22 participants from across Europe.

CASE Kick-Off Meeting 14-15 November 2017

The CASE (Creativity, Art and Science in Primary Education) consortium held its Kick-Off Meeting on 14-15 November 2017 in Stord, Norway, at the premises of the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL). Representatives from the 7 partner institutions coming from 5 European countries (Norway, Ireland, Netherlands, Lithuania and Greece) gathered to discuss the overall approach of the CASE project and how its work will unfold in the next years. Detailed planning and scheduling of the project activities was initiated and also the correlation between science and arts practices in primary education was discussed while taking into account the different national educational frameworks.

Through the discussions and presentation partners got a common understanding about the main issues of the project and agreed to proceed with the already foreseen work that will lead to the main project’s results, mainly:

  • The development of Training Materials for three creative science-arts practices, namely “Learning Science Through Theatre”, “Learning Science Through Puppetry” and “Learning Science Through Digital Narratives”
  • The organisation of three Summer Schools (one each year of the project) targeted at primary school teachers, educators and artists in order to support their professional development and aid them in the implementation of  creative science-arts activities in their respective learning environments
  • The implementation of the creative science-arts cases during each school year
  • The evaluation/assessment of the pilots

The CASE (Creativity, Art and Science in Primary Education) project will run for three years (Sep. 2017 – Aug. 2020) and is funded by the Erasmus+ KA2 programme of the EU. The project partners are:
